Design in Common: Five Voices We Admire from the Middle East

From the Space Of Kin studio: A quiet celebration of those who design with care.

At Space Of Kin, we’re drawn to design that whispers instead of shouts, spaces that balance restraint with warmth, and modernity with memory. It’s no surprise then, that when we look to the creative community around us, we find kinship in designers who share a similar rhythm. Whether through an intuitive use of texture, an honoring of tradition, or a masterful command of stillness, these five interior designers based in the Middle East are kindred spirits in our visual and spatial language.

1. VSHD Design – @vshddesign

Founded by Rania Hamed | Based in Dubai & Montreal

Rania Hamed’s studio, VSHD Design, exudes a sense of ease that feels timeless. Her work is clean but never clinical, with thoughtful materiality and a quietly confident palette. Her spaces, like the much-loved Upside Living in Dubai feel contemplative, yet deeply human. With their soft architectural gestures and natural finishes, her designs carry the same slow-living energy we champion at Space Of Kin.

2. Richard Yasmine– @richard.yasmine

Based in Beirut

Richard Yasmine’s work is sculptural, poetic, and unapologetically personal. While his forms can be bold, they’re always grounded in cultural nuance and conceptual depth. His use of pastel tones, repetition, and storytelling echo our own belief that interiors are more than spaces, they’re narratives. He brings a touch of dream to the everyday, something we always aim to infuse into our own collections and collaborations.

3. Styled Habitat – @styledhabitat

Founded by Rabah Saeid | Based in Dubai

Styled Habitat describes their practice as “artisans of ambience” and we couldn’t agree more. Led by Rabah Saeid, the studio has a remarkable sensitivity to sensory design, creating spaces that invite you to feel, not just look. We’re especially drawn to her organic forms, tactile layering, and the grounding sense of calm her work evokes qualities we hold close at Space Of Kin.

4. Studio Tsubi – @studiotsubi

Founded by Sameera Ameer | Based in the UAE

Minimalism is often misunderstood as cold or impersonal but not in the hands of Studio Tsubi. Sameera Ameer’s spaces are exercises in restraint, warmth, and intention. With her soft lighting, muted tones, and intuitive spatial flow, her work shows how minimalism can still hold soul. Her aesthetic speaks to our own design principles: less noise, more meaning.

5. Nakkash Design Studio – @nakkash.design.studio

Led by Omar Nakkash | Based in Dubai

With a heritage of furniture craftsmanship and a fresh perspective on modern living, Nakkash Design Studio brings forward a uniquely rooted minimalism. Omar Nakkash’s interiors often marry sleek forms with cultural cues, creating spaces that feel simultaneously now and timeless. Like us, the studio isn’t afraid to lean into nostalgia while keeping everything else crisply contemporary.

Designers Who Share Our Language

At Space Of Kin, we gravitate toward the thoughtful and the tactile. These five designers remind us that good design isn’t about trends it’s about tempo, texture, and truth. They show us what it means to design with a sense of place, an eye for beauty, and a deep respect for the human experience. And in that, we feel right at home.
