Brand Stories: Earl of East
There’s a quiet kind of power in scent the way it anchors us to a moment, a place, a memory. That’s the philosophy behind Earl of East, the East London brand that began with two people, a love of fragrance, and a DIY candle kit.
What started as a side project quickly evolved into a scent-led lifestyle brand rooted in storytelling. Their products don’t just smell good, they carry narratives. Each candle, incense, or room spray is inspired by a feeling, a destination, or a cultural ritual. It’s fragrance as memoir. Scent as story.
From East London to the World
Founded by Niko Dafkos and Paul Firmin, Earl of East began in a Hackney, East London market stall and has since grown into a global name—without ever losing its sense of intimacy and purpose. Every product is still made with care in their London studio, using soy wax, essential oils, and a considered approach to craft and sustainability.
Their signature line of candles is paired with evocative names like Shinrin-Yoku, Smoke & Musk, and Jardin de la Lune each one inspired by travel, memory, and a desire to slow down.
This is gifting that tells a story.

Gifting with Meaning
We believe the best gifts are the ones that feel personal. With Earl of East, you’re not just handing someone a beautiful object you’re giving them a moment, a mood, a memory in the making.
For the storyteller: A candle that captures the essence of a night in the woods or a summer garden in bloom.
For the homebody: A room spray or incense ritual to make everyday spaces feel sacred.
For the curious: A brand that sparks conversation about design, scent, and intention.
Whether it’s a thoughtful gesture or a full ritual set, Earl of East is about bringing beauty into the everyday quietly, confidently, and with care.
Small gift, big story.
